LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- When the center official blew the final whistle, Luchi Gonzalez released a triumphant punch into the air that was half excitement, half relief.
Gonzalez coaches the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s Kendall SC (Fla.) under-15/16 squad that had just edged Bethesda SC (Md.) 3-2 in a rare meeting between Academy and non-Academy programs, which took place Tuesday at the Disney Soccer Showcase.

December 5, 2011 – It all came together for Kendall SC’s U11B White as they notched five consecutive victories to capture the Gold Championship in this year’s edition of the Plantation Thanksgiving Classic. Also posting superior performances for Kendall SC at the tournament were the U10B White who reached the Gold Final and the U17B Blue who won their group and advanced to the U17 Semifinal.

SIX KENDALL SC ALUMNI EARN COLLEGIATE AWARDS
22 Alumni Qualify for NCAA National Championship Tournaments
December 3, 2011 – Six Kendall SC alumni earned post-season awards for their performances on the pitch in the recently concluded college season. Headlining the group are Pablo Punyed (St. John’s), who was named Co-Midfielder of the Year in the Big East Conference, and Andrew Quintana (UCF), who earned a spot on the All-Conference USA First Team. Others receiving recognition were Rafa Faria (Rollins), Lazaro Gil (Lewis), Diego Figueroa (Lincoln College) and Fabio Raucci (Cape Fear College). In addition, 22 Kendall SC alumni were on teams that qualified for the NCAA Division 1, 2 or 3 National Championship Tournaments.

Three Other Kendall SC Teams Qualify for Late Season Playoffs
November 11, 2011 – Kendall SC’s U13B White and 96 Pre-Academy (U16) teams finished atop their respective age groups at the conclusion of the SFUYSA Early Season, finishing the championship with only one loss apiece. Close on their heels were the 97 Pre-Academy (U15), U17 White and U18 White, which all finished among the top four teams in the Premier brackets of their age groups, earning them automatic entry into the Late Season Playoffs in the Spring.

October 9, 2011 – The 2011 college soccer season in well under way, and a total of 33 Kendall SC alumni - 23 men and 10 women - are enjoying their first year in collegiate ranks. 12 former members are playing NCAA Div. 1 ball, seven are on NCAA Div. 2 squads, two on NCAA Div. 3 teams, four in the NAIA, and eight in the NJCAA. Congratulations to all for advancing to the next level of athletic and academic achievement. October 5, 2011 - There was little reason to believe that Kendall SC’s under-15/16 squad was in for a breakout weekend in U.S. Soccer Development Academy Soccer action. Coming off of last year’s fourth-place finish in the eight-team Atlantic Division of the Southeast Conference, Kendall SC already winless at 0-1-1, having been outscored 3-2 in its first couple of outtings. In addition, the Miami-based program was scheduled for two difficult conference games against the returning division winning Concorde Fire and the Birmingham United.

U18 DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY TEAM PREPS FOR NEW SEASON
Pre-season Games Against Barry University and Blue Star Honduras Give the Team Valuable Experience
September 22, 2011 – Kendall SC’s U.S. Soccer Development Academy teams will travel to Virginia this weekend to kick off league play against Virginia Rush AJ Auxerre and Richmond Kickers. Leading up to the season opener, Matias Asorey, coach of the U18 team, has been prepping his squad with practice games against the likes of Barry University’s men’s soccer team and last year’s Copa Latina finalists, Blue Star Honduras in order to get the team ready for the rigors of the Development Academy season.
