December 5, 2011 – It all came together for Kendall SC’s U11B White as they notched five consecutive victories to capture the Gold Championship in this year’s edition of the Plantation Thanksgiving Classic. Also posting superior performances for Kendall SC at the tournament were the U10B White who reached the Gold Final and the U17B Blue who won their group and advanced to the U17 Semifinal.

The U11B White confirmed their status as one of the top U11 teams in South Florida starting off strong in group play with wins over Lee County Strikers (5-1), Cyclone Hollywood Soccer Hollywood Blue (2-1) and Boynton Knights Black (7-3). In the semifinal Kendall SC avenged one of its two regular season losses by defeating Coral Springs United Green in a hard fought 1-0 decision. The Final pitted the boys against one of their strongest local rivals, West Pines United Black. The contest would stretch to the final whistle and beyond as Kendall SC needed overtime and penalty kicks to seal the 3-2 victory and claim the championship hardware. The U10B White kicked off with two dominating performances in crossover play against the teams from the opposing flight, defeating FC Florida South 12-2 and Cape Coral Cyclones 6-0 before tying Miami Lakes SC 3-3 to secure first place in their own flight. The Final pitted Kendall SC once again against Miami Lakes in a game that would mirror the opening round match and go down to the wire. After battling through regulation and overtime, the teams set up for kicks from the mark, and this time Miami Lakes held the edge to win 4-3 and send Kendall SC home with a second place finish. The U17B Blue did not allow a goal in group play and finished undefeated after defeating Boynton Knights (4-0) and West Pines United Gold (2-0), and tying Strictly Soccer 0-0. Their first place finish earned them a semifinal match against CTC EMBO Soccer Academy, the team that finished first in the Premier group of the SFUYSA Early Season. Kendall SC gave their opponents a strong match, but fell short in the end losing by a 0-2 margin and CTC went on to become the eventual tournament champion. Four other Kendall SC teams competed in the tournament, including: the U9B White, who finished with a 0-2-1 record in the Gold group; the U9B Blue, who finished with a 1-2-0 record in the Blue group; the U10B Blue, who finished with a 0-3-0 record in the Blue Group; and the U12B White, who also finished 0-3-0 in the Gold group.
