U15B WHITE AND U14G WHITE ADVANCE TO FYSA STATE CUP FINAL FOUR
U13B White, U17G White and U17B White Fall in the Quarterfinals

May 12, 2010 – Kendall SC’s U14G White became the first girls team from Miami-Dade County in recent memory to qualify for the FYSA State Cup Final Four, advancing after stirring back-to-back victories this past weekend in Palm Bay. They will be joined in Auburndale on May 22 by the U15B White, who followed an exciting path by deciding both their Round of 16 and Quarterfinals matches on penalty kicks.

The U14G White will make Kendall SC history, becoming the club’s first girls team to play in an FYSA State Cup Final Four. They started off the weekend with a 2-1 victory over 2009 state semifinalists FC America Kumba and capped it off with a 1-0 shutout of cross-town rivals Pinecrest Premier. Kendall SC will face WESA Krush Academy at 8 am Saturday in the Lake Myrtle Complex in Auburndale. The other semifinal pits Lakeland FC against Braden River Rage.
The U15B White will get a shot at avenging last year’s Round of 16 loss to Team Boca White when they face off in the semifinals at 1 pm on May 22. Kendall SC emerged victorious by a razor thin margin in its two Challenge Round matches. They first went the distance against West Pines United Black, and after a scoreless tie, won on shots from the mark. Penalty kicks also determined the outcome of the quarterfinal match against Boca United Gold after regulation and overtime ended in a 1-1 tie. Coach Marcos Colman hopes to repeat as state champion in 2010 after having guided last year’s U15B White to the title. The other semifinal match will feature Florida Rush Nike and HCU Red.
Three other Kendall SC teams advanced to the Quarterfinals after wins on Saturday, but failed to achieve their goal of advancing to the Final Four. The U13B White continued their Cinderella run with a solid 4-1 victory over Wesley Chapel FC and took Space Coast United Storm Elite to two overtimes before allowing the deciding goal in a 0-1 loss.
For the third year in a row the U17G White made it as far as the Quarterfinals overpowering Lakeland FC in a 6-0 Round of 16 win. But they were not able to make it past 2009 semifinalist Team Boca White, dropping a 2-3 decision. The U17B White also repeated as quarterfinalists, dispatching the GOU Falcons 4-1 on Saturday, but did not match up well against an inspired SAA-Real Madrid team that too the quarterfinal match by a 3-0 score.
The two other Kendall SC teams playing in the Round of 16 made early exits on Saturday. The U14B White lost 1-3 to SAA-Real Madrid while the U15G White fell 1-4 to the defending state champions, Ponte Vedra Storm.
