November 2, 2009 – Kendall SC’s U15B White and U18B White wrapped up play in the SFUYSA Early Season finishing atop the Premier Division in their respective age groups. They will be joined in the Late Season playoffs by the U17B White who qualified by placing fourth in the U19 Premier Division.
The U15B White relied on their stingy defense, allowing only 5 goals in 8 games, to post a 5-2-1 record and finish tied in first place with the Weston 1995 Pre-Academy team in the U15 Premier Division. Meanwhile, the U18B White went undefeated with a 6-0-2 record for sole possession of first place in the U19 Premier Division. Their potent attack netted 26 goals, which were six better than the next highest scoring team - Kendall SC’s U17B White - while the defense held their own, allowing the lowest goals against of the eight teams in the division. The U17B White, who were facing off against older competition, held on for a third place tie in the U19 Premier Division with a record of 3-2-3. They finished second in goals scored and third in goals allowed while playing with a lineup limited by key injuries.
The U16B White had to restock and reload after losing a handful of top starters to the U16 Miami FC Kendall Development Academy team and faced the challenge of playing up in a very competitive U17 Premier group. They fell one point short of their goal of qualifying for the Late Season playoffs with a 3-4-1 record, but showed flashes of promise that bode well for when they meet up with their same age competition in State Cup later in the season. The U16B Blue faced some ups and downs in the U16 A Division, and after a promising start to the season, ended in eighth place with a 2-6-1 record.
The U17B Blue also faced a tough road after moving up one Division to the Premier group. Unfortunately, their early success faded after an injury to their starting goalkeeper and the team ended with five consecutive losses and a 1-6-1 record. Wrapping up the Early Season boys teams were the U18B Blue, whose solid showing was marred by two forfeits that cost them dearly in the standings. Absent those two forfeits they had five wins and three losses and were only two points out of the fourth place position that would have afforded them a pass to the Late Season playoffs.
