About Kendall SCKendall Soccer Coalition youth soccer club, a not-for-profit organization, was created in 2005 as the result of the merger of two of Miami-Dade County’s premier competitive soccer programs: West Kendall Optimist and Southern Soccer Coalition. The club's Boys, Girls and Academy programs provide an environment for elite soccer players to train together under a qualified coaching staff to elevate their play and showcase their talent in competition against top youth soccer teams across Florida and the nation.
The club's primary goal is to offer the best possible soccer and personal development, and to provide growth opportunities to those individuals who have the talent to potentially compete at the collegiate level. Our program also places significant emphasis on preparing players for the transition to the next level of play at the same time that we assist in facilitating their access to a more affordable post-secondary education and a more prosperous future as active members of the South Florida community.
Prior to the union of both organizations, West Kendall and Southern Soccer teams achieved statewide and national prominence, with players from the clubs reaching the ranks of regional, national, college and professional teams.
Teams from Kendall Soccer Coalition have participated in many of the country's top youth soccer competitions and tournaments, including the USYS Region III and National Championships, Super-Y League National Championship, Disney Soccer Showcase, Dallas Cup, CASL Shootout, Jefferson Cup, Atlanta Cup, Tampa Bay Sun Bowl and Score at the Shore.
Club Contacts Competitive League Affiliations and TeamsDuring the 2005-2006 season Kendall SC fielded 26 boys and girls competitive teams in the U9 to U19 age categories. We also provide advanced skills training for younger players through the Kendall SC Academy program. Boys teams compete in the South Forida United Youth Soccer Association. For the 2005-2006 season year we had Division 1 teams in every age category, with multiple Division 1 teams in U11, U12, U14, U15, U16, U17 and U18, and three Division 2 teams in the U11 and U13 age groups. Girls teams compete in the Florida United Girls Soccer Association. For the 2005-2006 season we had girls teams in the U11, U13 and U16 age groups.
In addition to playing in SFUYSA and FLUGSA under the Kendall Soccer Coalition affiliation, our elite players and teams participate under the West Kendall affiliation in the Super Y-League, a national league of premier clubs, of which only a select few Florida clubs compete in the Southeast Division.
Recreational ProgramsIn addition to running the competitive programs, Kendall SC maintains a close relationship with the recreational soccer programs or West Kendall Optimist and Southern Soccer Coalition, which continue to be run independently through their respective affiliations with FYSA and AYSO. The recreational programs will continue to be an important feeder source for the competitive teams. Those players that show great aptitude for the game of soccer are given the opportunity to try out for the competitive teams.
On average the programs have more than 1,000 recreational players that participate every year - starting from 5 years old up to 16 years old, and that includes both boys and girls. We are making sure that those players in the recreational program start early on with all the proper instruction and basics required to become better players, always taking into account that the game has to be fun.
