KENDALL SC PLACES TWO SEMIFINALISTS AT WESTON INVITATIONAL
U15G White Also Reach Quarterfinals of Score at the Shore
February 22, 2008 – Kendall SC’s U10B Blue and U15B Blue advanced to the Classic Semifinals at the Weston Invitational and the U15G White faced some tough competition in reaching the quarterfinals at Score at the Shore in Tampa during President’s Day weekend.
The U10B Blue advanced to the semis at Weston as the wildcard after posting a 2-0-1 record in the first round with wins against North Port F.C. (2-0) and Weston Fury Swoosh (3-2), and a 0-2 loss to North Miami Maccabi. In the semifinal they couldn’t overcome Pinecrest Premier 002, losing by a score of 0-2.
The U15B Blue finished first in its group with wins over Doral Milan (3-0) and Cutler Ridge 502 (1-0) and a 0-0 tie versus Wellington, before losing to SAA – Castilla 0-2 in the semifinal.
Meanwhile in Tampa the U15G White were fighting their way to the quarterfinals, emerging in first place after a three-way tie. A hard earned 3-2 win against Clearwater Chargers a 6-1 walkover against IMG Soccer Academy were coupled with a 0-1 loss to Michigan Rush Nike. In the semifinals they dropped a 2-3 decision to perennial state power and the eventual tournament champion, Ponte Vedra Storm.
Also participating in Weston were the U9B White, who posted a 1-0-2 record in the Premier Group with a 3-2 win over Pinecrest Premier and loses to Key Biscayne (2-7) and Wellington (2-3). The U10G White, were kept out of the Classic semifinals by goal differential after not losing a game. They scored wins against Weston Fury Premier (2-1), Ft. Lauderdale Select (3-1), Cooper City Cobras (4-2) and a 1-1 tie versus West Pines United Black. The 11B Blue finished with a 1-1-1 record in the Classic 1 group, defeating Miramar Premier Gold 5-2, tying Coral Springs Renegades 1-1 and losing to Weston Fury Premier Nike 1-3. |
