"Super Y-League Finals Teams"

THREE KENDALL SC TEAMS IN SUPER Y-LEAGUE NORTH AMERICAN FINALS
U14G, U16B and U17B to Represent the Club in Prestigious Championship

November 15, 2007 – Three Kendall SC teams are headed this weekend to Tampa to compete in the Super Y-League’s North American Finals.  The five-day tournament includes over 130 of the best youth soccer teams in the US and Canada from U13 to U17 for boys and girls. Teams qualified by placing first or second in their respective regions and will face the best from around North America in a quest to become league champions. The 2006 finals featured teams from Vancouver to Miami with teams representing some of the top professional clubs in the nation such as Major League Soccer's DC United and Red Bull New York. Kendall SC’s U15 and U17 boys teams both reached the semifinal round last year.

The U16 Boys team returns to the Finals this year in a quest to win it all this time and is joined by the U17 Boys and the U14 Girls. The U16 Boys finished atop the Southeast Division with a record of 11 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties. They allowed a league-low four goals anchored by Region III ODP selections, goalkeeper David Sarabia and defender Andrew Quintana. In the preliminary round of the Finals they will face New Jersey’s Player Development Academy, California’s San Juan SC, and RSL Arizona.

For their part, the U17 Boys will face New Hampshire’s Seacoast United, Chicago Magic, and Northern Virginia Royals. Kendall SC earned its pass to the Finals by finishing second in the 12-team Southeast Division, just two points behind RSL Florida. In compiling a 13-1-2 they handed RSL its only loss and were also only one of two teams to defeat Schultz Academy.

The U14 Girls, who finished undefeated in the Southeast Division (7-0-2), will face New Jersey Junior Stallions, California Cougars, and Illinois’ Penns Forest. Their regular season performance was so dominant that they outscored their opponents by 27 goals, 16 more goals than their nearest competitor – and allowed only 2 goals in nine matches.

This year's event will begin on Thursday, November 15th with the first day of matches being played on Friday, November 16th. Championship matches are schedule for Tuesday, November 20th. For more information, please access the Super Y-League North American Finals web page.

Four other Kendall SC teams participated in the Super Y-League this past summer. The U13 Boys finished third in Group B of the Southeast Division with a 7-5-1 record; the U14 Boys finished seventh with a 4-5-3 record; the U15 Boys finished fifth with a 6-6-2 mark; and the U17 Girls also finished fifth with a 4-4-2 record in their first year playing in the Super-Y League.
